The awards were announced during a ceremony that took place Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 during SMTA International in Minneapolis, MN.</p>
<p>With the HM520h Hybrid LED Mounter, actual productivity is highest among machines of the same class and is optimized to high quality production. The system is equipped with features specific to LED production, including PCB Warpage Correction, Random LED Placement and Flip Check Placement, etc. The HM520h can produce small to large PCBS with a rotary head that allows high-speed, high precision production using the Side View System (SVS).</p>
<p>Optimized LED production ensures optimized production with a minimum number of feeders by applying the rotary head, realizing actual productivity of a Max. of 78,000 (chip) CPH and 65,000 (wafer) CPH.</p>
<p>The unique Hanwha/ESE US-2000DXH1 Screen Printer is truly one of a kind in the market. The back-to-back configurable printer allows dual-lane processing for higher throughput., bar code recognition for setup verification, paperless cleaning (with environmentally friendly quick change-out cartridges that can be replaced is less than 5-seconds), and optional auto paste dispensing.</p>
<p>The stable and user-friendly operator interface includes Windows 10 and a 500GB hard drive. The fast and accurate Hanwha/ESE vision system for a simultaneous recognition of PCB and stencil (3-stage lighting for PCB, 1-stage lighting for stencil); any mark can be recognized/registered; auto calibration equipped.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>IPC hosted its popular IPC Hand Soldering Competition in Tallinn, Estonia October 12-14, 2022 with Instrutec 2022 and the Estonian Electronics Industries Association and welcoming 31 competitors from 14 European electronics companies.</p>
<p>Skilled contestants competed to build an assembly in accordance with IPC-A-610 – Class 3 criteria process and were judged on the functionality of the assembly, compliance with the assembly process, and overall product quality. Contestants were allowed a maximum of one hour to complete the process task.</p>
<p>On the winner’s podium at Instrutec 2022 were:</p>
<p>First Place is returning to first prize winner Timmo Antso from Scanfil. He received a certificate, a cash prize of 300 EUR, a soldering station from sponsor Hakko and a gift from sponsor Almit. As the winner, Ansto qualified for the IPC Hand Soldering World Championship at electronica in Munich, Germany, November 15–18, 2022.</p>
<p>Second place goes to Ave Esko from Scanfil. She received a certificate, a cash prize of 200 EUR, and a soldering station from sponsor Hakko and a gift from sponsor Almit.</p>
<p>Third Place goes to Karen Andresoo, Enics. She received a certificate, a cash prize of 100 EUR, a soldering station from sponsor Hakko, and a gift from sponsor Almit.</p>
<p>Best Company Team Award</p>
<p>IPC and the Estonian Electronics Industries Association presented the Best Company Team Award, recognizing the company which engaged the best team, with overall score based on the best scores of competitors from that company. All companies that registered two or more competitors were automatically entered into the Best Company Team category. For the Estonian competition, 11 companies were eligible for the Best Company Team Award. The top prize was presented to Scanfil, with a winning score achieved by Scanfil competitors Timmo Ansto and Ave Esko.</p>

<p>Co-chaired by Tanya Martin of the SMTA and Jessica Molloy of ZESTRON, the second presentation will take place from 1:45-2:30 p.m. Loretta Renard, CEO at REMAP, will focus on changing the perception of manufacturing process.</p>
<p>As manufacturing process becomes more advanced and digitized, perceptions about careers in manufacturing are changing – creating a more positive perception of the sector and incenting more women to pursue careers in manufacturing process. This is further supported by workforce multiplier jobs – currently estimated to be 16 jobs created for every one high-tech manufacturing process job. These multiplier jobs support and drive manufacturing process, but are not on the manufacturing floor – such as automation technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and a whole host of supporting professions from supply chain management through logistics, finance, marketing and beyond. There is much sophistication and excitement around manufacturing process and this is quickly changing the demographics of the workforce.</p>
<p>The winners in this evolving industry will possess varying combinations of technical, leadership and power skills. Loretta will discuss the growing role of women in the advanced manufacturing process and how she has leveraged her communications, interpersonal and leadership toolkit to grow her own unique and unexpected career in the manufacturing sector.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) introduced the new Labcoter® 3 Parylene deposition system (PDS 2010) for Parylene laboratory research, applications development and testing, the Labcoter 3 performs reliable and repeatable application of SCS Parylene conformal coatings process.</p>
<p>The CE-certified system features Windows®-based software with a touchscreen monitor. Built-in feature data logging and reporting allow deposition process records, including vaporizer temperatures and deposition chamber vacuum levels, to be easily exported as data.</p>
<p>Ultra-thin Parylene coatings are inert and biocompatible, and have excellent moisture, chemical and dielectric barrier properties. Parylene polymer coatings are applied via vapor deposition equipment systems, which allows for the precise control of coating rate and thickness. The deposition process begins as the powdered precursor (dimer) is vaporized under vacuum and heated to form a dimeric gas. The gas is then pyrolized to cleave the dimer into its monomeric form and finally is deposited as a transparent polymer film. The polymerization process occurs at ambient temperatures and does not involve solvents, catalysts or cure forces. Parylene coatings process can be applied in thicknesses from several hundred angstroms to 75 microns.</p>
<p>Parylenes can be applied to components such as circuit boards, sensors, wafers, medical devices, MEMS and elastomeric components. SCS Labcoters are useful in research, development and repair environments.</p>

<p>The award was announced during a ceremony that took place Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 during SMTA Guadalajara in Mexico. MIRTEC’s Revolutionary GENESYS-PIN 3D AOI System is specifically developed for the Automotive Electronics Market.</p>
<p>This extraordinary system is configured with a 12 Megapixel CoaXPress High-speed Camera System, a 15um Precision Telecentric Lens, an advanced nine (9) Phase RGB Color Lighting System, a Programmable Multi-Focus Z-Axis System, and four (4) Programmable Multi-Pattern Digital Projectors which are an integral part of MIRTEC’s proprietary Hybrid 3D Measurement Technology. With this revolutionary optical system, the GENESYS-PIN machine can measure up to 50mm tall connector pins with extreme accuracy.</p>
<p>The GENESYS-PIN machine detects defects such as missing pins, pin offset, distance between pins and inner/outer dimensions of forked pins. The machine operates in two different modes: Precision Inspection Mode and High-Speed Inspection Mode. From zero to 12mm there is no difference between modes. Precision Inspection Mode may be selected to inspect pins in excess of 12mm tall. In this mode, the Programmable Multi-Focus Z-Axis is used to raise the head so that the system can precisely measure pins up to 50mm.</p>
<p>In High-Speed Mode, the Z-Axis remains fixed with a maximum height measurement of up to 40mm. High-Speed Inspection Mode is approximately 53% faster when compared to Precision Inspection Mode with a slight decrease in accuracy for inspection of taller pins.</p>

<p>KIC’s Sales Manager in Mexico, Miguel Carbajal said “KIC is excited about winning this award and receiving recognition for our innovation. Customer feedback directed us, and our top-notch R&amp;D team, to find a unique solution for profiling up to 24 points on a PCB, and the market seems to be very pleased with the result.”</p>
<p>The new Dual Profiling system for Profiling Software 2G and SPS Smart Profilers allows to use 24 thermocouple locations in a single profile run for temperature profiling measurements process. The new system consists of two 12 channel SPS units, paired together and run as a single 24 channel profiler inside of a new thermal barrier case. This is key for customers who require more sample locations on some of their products, but still want to use same profiler on smaller boards requiring less. Dual Profiling allows this flexibility usage.</p>
<p>Using the Profiling Software 2G application, a user can synchronize two standard 12 channel SPS Smart Profilers together and they will function as a single profiler system. Also included is a brand-new shield design to accommodate protecting 2 SPS profilers by simultaneously.</p>
<p>When profiling larger products as server boards or long PCB are often a need for more measurement points. The new Dual Profiling system provides this ability and more flexibility for running with other TC location configurations also.</p>
<p>The Dual Profiling option with 24 channels and associated hardware is available in a variety of kits, offering ultimate system flexibility. System kits are available with the purchase of new SPS Smart Profilers and as an option for use with existing 12 channel SPS Smart Profilers.</p>
